ABOUT THE ARTIST

Growing up in the beautiful huckleberry mountain range of Eastern Washington, Jack taught himself to draw at a very young age, first by observing the artistic abilities of his uncles, then by studying the wide array of wildlife he had been continuously surrounded by. Through the years, without any formal schooling in art, Jack has developed many of his own unique drawing techniques. His talent comes from, as he believes, "The Great Spirit...our Creator" and gives credit to his mother, Cheryl, for bestowing in him the belief in a Love Force which orchestrates all aspects of life. Being an avid wildlife enthusiast, he believes strongly in wildlife management and conservation so that it can be here for all of us to enjoy for generations to come. This leads him to donate much of his work to organizations who are dedicated to preserving nature and land, always allowing space for our animals to thrive. Jack still resides in Eastern Washington and spends much of his free time hiking, camping, and hunting with his wife April, and two dogs, Kanute and Zeeke. He has always had a great love and respect for the wilderness and wildlife. He feels that his natural talent is a divine gift, and that it is his responsibility to share it with humanity ~ as "a gift is not a gift until it has been given."

BASALT ROCK ETCHINGS

These breathtaking basalt rocks have been etched by the artist's own individual method to vividly capture the beauty and essence of nature in its many forms. Each rock has been hand selected from a private ranch in Washington State. Apart from the etchings, the rocks have not been altered by man or machine to change their size, shape, color or texture.

Therefore, every rock is organically unique and each etching will vary slightly as the pictures are drawn by the artist's talent rather than from a pattern or trace.

The animals are highlighted with art pencils to bring out their unique colors. Every rock is an original piece by Jack Manning - no two rocks will be the same.

Each rock comes with a 3-pronged tree branch stand, usually willow, that holds the rock upright. The rocks are sealed with a stone sealer to preserve the etching but should not be displayed in direct exposure to natures elements to avoid fading of the picture over time. Please keep in mind that prices will vary depending on the size of the rock and the number of animals etched.

All rock etchings are custom ordered. For orders requiring more than two animal, please Contact Us and we will provide a custom quote.

NORTHWEST WILDWOOD LAMPS

These lamps are nothing short of magical. They have been hand crafted by my father-in-law, Mike Moon and are solid wood. Each lamp base has been cut out of a tree root system, pressure washed, then sanded and dremeled a bit to enhance their natural shapes. They are coated with varathane which highlights the many beautiful colors streaming through each piece. By large, the shape of every lamp comes as it has been picked from the mountains. And if you want to be the lucky early bird, you can snag a lamp whose roots have grown around rocks and have embedded rocks throughout. Enjoy, and check back soon to see the latest lamps!
